To say that the past few weeks have been hectic would be 2009's biggest understatement. Aside from misplacing my camera, the holidays took a lot out of me. What with holiday parties, family gatherings, weddings, babies, etc, I haven't had a lot of time to ponder what 2009 will, and more importantly should bring.
Unfortunately again this year, I didn't really ring in the new year with a bang, but more with a hiccup. We stayed home this year and toasted each other and our Bubba.
I thought it might at this point be a good idea to start thinking of proposed resolutions. Although I've never been one to make new year's resolutions, perhaps because I always think I'm on top ("I don't mean to brag, but I think I'm probably the most humble person ever."), I think it's a must this year.
This year, I am bound and determined to do each of the following:
1. Be admitted to more than one Bar. (Which type, you ask? Draw your own conclusions)
2. Fit back into my favorite jeans.
3. Visit a doctor less than three times (starting next week... I'll explain later).
4. Not pay for any major repairs on my auto.
5. Have absolutely no cavities.
6. Complete the hike to the top of Waterfall canyon without injuring myself.
7. Cook a meal from scratch-- or cook a meal at all-- for my hubby (one that even the dog will eat). Also, perfect the art of chicken galanga coconut soup (you'd understand if you'd been at my mother's for Christmas dinner).
8. Learn basic Arabic. (Being a blonde, Mormon, conservative Democrat from Utah, this could eventually come in handy).
9. Screen not one call (unless it's someone I really, really don't want to talk to).
10. Take a relaxing vacation with no pressure for any scheduled meetings.
